England’s Skipper Jos Buttler is set to be back in action against Australia in the 1st T20I match. The right-handed batter was on a tour of Pakistan but did not play a single T20I match due to injury. In his absence, Moeen Ali was the skipper of the team and did quite a good job by winning  T20I Series by 4-3.

England Cricket Team will now have to finalize their combination as they have only 3 T20Is remaining. England needs to make sure that they are sticking to one combination irrespective of the results. England has shown that they can be ruthless on their day.

Jos Buttler Set to Replace Phil Salt

The Skipper is likely to pair with Alex Hales at the top of the order. Phil Salt on getting a chance in the absence of Bairstow & Buttler. “It’s more a case of focusing on yourself. The landscape changes so quickly in professional sport. I’m just here to perform and to win games, in my mind that’s as simple as it gets,” Salt said.

Jos Buttler An Invaluable Asset

The Captain knows how to take the game away from the opposition in one over. The right-handed batter will have to make sure that he adjusts to Australian Conditions quickly and takes time before going berserk. He has the knack of scoring a half-century in 20 odd balls where he can decimate the opponent quite easily. There would be high expectations from him as he knows how to read the minds of the bowler.

In the last edition of the 2021 T20 World Cup, England was looking threatening but failed in the Semi Final Stage. Buttler will have to be careful as his batting should not get affected by captaincy. There’s no doubt that doing captaincy in a marquee event won’t be easy but this time he has the support of Alex Hales who knows how to accelerate in the initial stages.
