The veteran England speedster James Anderson bowled a nasty beamer to the Australia opener David Warner during the ongoing Ashes 2023 finale at the Kennington Oval in London.
Australia have been given a target of 384 runs to chase by Ben Stokes & Co. in the ongoing fifth Test. Opening batsmen David Warner and Usman Khawaja have provided their side with a terrific and they have already added 135 runs for the opening wicket.

A victory for the Pat Cummins-led side in the match will seal the series 3-1 for them. If that happens, it will be Australia’s first Ashes series win on English soil in 22 years.
Meanwhile, Warner narrowly escaped an injury while batting during the final innings of the match. Anderson was bowling the 31st over and on the last delivery of the over, the pacer bowled a chest-high full toss to the batter.
Warner was taken aback and he screamed “whoa” while managing to fend it away over the slip cordon for a four. He fell to the ground and had a smile on his face as he stood up.
James Anderson was quick to offer an apology to the batter and Warner acknowledged it was unintentional from the veteran pacer.

The veteran Australian opener Warner also broke Jack Hobbs’ record for being involved in the most 100-run opening partnerships in Tests. He now has 25 such stands, overtaking Hobbs’ record of 24.
The partnership between Warner and Khawaja is the first-century partnership for the opening wicket in the Ashes since the 122-run stand between David Warner and Cameron Bancroft in Melbourne in 2017/18.
Also, the last time a century-opening partnership didn’t involve Warner in the Ashes was back way in 2010/11 when Alastair Cook and Andrew Strauss added 159 in Melbourne.
