England skipper Ben Stokes was out to an unplayable delivery from Mitchell Starc on day 1 of the ongoing Oval Test. Stokes scored just three off 14 balls before he was left stunned by his dismissal. England were bowled out for 283 in their first innings.

The delivery from Mitchell Starc pitched in the middle stump and just left him to take his off stump. Michael Atherton on commentary explained the dismissal in his own words saying “he got the angle slightly coming in but then it straightens off the seam”. There was a shout of “Oh” from Stokes which suggested that he was taken by surprise by that delivery from Starc.
