AUS vs NED: Revealed- Why Marcus Stoinis Is Not Playing Today's Match vs Netherlands!!

Australia will be without their all-rounder Marcus Stoinis for the forthcoming game against the Netherlands in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. Captain Pat Cummins confirmed the news during the toss.

Marcus Stoinis had also missed Australia’s first game of the ongoing competition due to a hamstring injury. He returned to action during their second game against South Africa and played against Sri Lanka and Pakistan as well. However, he will miss the game against the Netherlands due to a calf niggle.

Confirming the news, Cummins stated that Cameron Green will replace Marcus Stoinis in the playing eleven. Green was a part of Australia’s playing eleven for their tournament opener but was dropped after Stoinis recovered.

“We will have a bat. Looks like a lovely wicket. The sun is out. Happy with the way we have played the last couple of games. The bridge is still too far for Head. Still would need a few more days. Stoinis has a niggly calf. Cam Green comes in. Looks a good day to score runs,” said Pat Cummins.

Australia eye third win despite Marcus Stoinis resting:

Australia will be looking to continue their winning run in the World Cup. The five-time world champions began their campaign with heavy defeats against India and South Africa. While India thrashed them by 6 wickets, South Africa inflicted a 134-run defeat on them.

However, the Cummins-led side bounced back with a five-wicket win over Sri Lanka before beating Pakistan by 62 runs. With momentum on their side, they will be looking to register their third win in the competition by beating the Netherlands who have 1 win and 3 defeats so far.
