High-flying Australia will be taking on New Zealand in their sixth game of the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 and they have not included Cameron Green in their playing 11. The five-time world champions began their campaign with two heavy losses against India and South Africa before bouncing back with three wins in a row.

They opened their account in the tournament with a win over Sri Lanka before beating Pakistan. In their last outing, they inflicted a record 309-run defeat on the Netherlands. With the momentum on their side, they will be looking to extend their winning run when they take on the Black Caps at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

As far as New Zealand are concerned, they began their campaign with four wins in a row. The Black Caps thrashed the likes of England, Netherlands, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan before their winning run came to an end against hosts India. The Tom Latham-led side will be looking to get back to winning ways against Australia.

Australia takes on New Zealand without Cameron Green:

Australia will be without their allrounder Cameron Green for the game against New Zealand, captain Pat Cummins confirmed at the toss. Cameron Green played in Australia’s World Cup opener against India but was dropped straightaway after his poor performance.

He was replaced by Marcus Stoinis in the playing eleven. But with Stoinis not fit for the game against the Netherlands, Cameron Green was recalled into the playing eleven. He, however, could not grab the opportunity and was out for just 8 runs. And while he was expected to play against New Zealand too as Stoinis is still not fit, Australia have dropped him to make room for Travis Head who is set to play his first game in the competition.

“Looks like a good wicket, might be something in it early. Travis Head comes in for Cam Green. They are a team we know really well, but they know us really well too. Excited to get going. Try and set up a big score,” said Pat Cummins.

Australia (Playing XI):

David Warner, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Steven Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Inglis(w), Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins(c), Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

New Zealand (Playing XI):

Devon Conway, Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham(w/c), Glenn Phillips, James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult
