David Warner, on Saturday (October 28), played another brilliant knock with the bat in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. He smashed a whirlwind fifty against New Zealand at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

The Australia opener did not start his campaign in the World Cup on a good note. In the first three innings, he registered scores of 41, 13 and 11. But the veteran opener has regained his form just at the right time for his side. In the fourth game against Pakistan, he blasted 163 runs while sharing a record stand of 259 runs against Mitchell Marsh.

He followed it up with a knock of 104 runs against the Netherlands. And on Saturday, he took the New Zealand bowlers to the cleaners. David Warner and his opening partner Travis Head blew New Zealand away with their whirlwind batting at the HPCA Stadium.

David Warner does the Pushpa dance:

David Warner smashed a 28-ball fifty while Head reached the milestone in just 25 balls. The Australia star was looking set to score his third century in a row. And it would not be wrong to say that the fans were eagerly waiting for him to complete the milestone so that they could see his famous celebration inspired by the Pushpa movie.

Unfortunately, David Warner could not reach his century. He departed after scoring 81 runs off 65 balls with the help of five fours and six sixes. Later in the game, he delighted the fans at the HPCA Stadium by doing the iconic Pushpa dance. As he came to the field near the boundary, the DJ played the song from the movie and David Warner could not stop himself from doing the dance step from the movie.

Watch:

Talking about the game, Head went on to smash a 65-ball ton to lay the foundation for Australia’s big total. The five-time world champions recovered from a slump in the middle overs to post a mammoth total of 388 runs. In reply, New Zealand were on 120 for 2 after 17 overs at the time of writing this report.
