Cricket Australia has recalled David Warner, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Marsh & Marcus Stoinis. Apart from David Warner, all the other 3 cricketers were injured which was the reason they weren’t a part of the India T20I Series. Australia would be keen to defend their title this year as last time not many had given them a chance to win the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Australia is all set to play 2 T20I Series against West Indies on 5th & 7th October. With the T20 World Cup around the corner, it would be interesting to see whether Australia still continue to experiment or stick to a certain combination. Australia would be aware that no team has won back-to-back titles and now they have a golden chance as they are going to play in their own backyard.

George Bailey on Team Selection

The former Australian Batter & National Selection Panel George was quite straightforward in announcing the squad. ” We have and are taking a cautious approach with the World Cup on the near horizon. To have four key players return gives us the ability to take a conservative path with any minor issues and resolves those well in time for the World Cup. As such we anticipate Kane & Ashton will return for the following series against England.” said Bailey

Crucial Phase for Australia

Australian Cricket Team would now look to get back to winning ways after the 2-1 series loss against India. The Defending Champions would not be concerned that much as they got to see the Tim David Roaring which was the biggest positive of the Series along with Cameron Green.

Australia’s last two assignments are against West Indies & England. They are going to play 5 T20Is which would definitely give them ample practice for T20 World Cup 2022. The main focus would be on Cameron Green; if he smashes a couple of match-winning knocks then one of Stoinis & Maxwell will have to make a way out for him. The peculiarity of Green is that he is a naturally aggressive player who can stun the opponent.
