The young Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has confirmed his participation in the next IPL 2023 mini-auction, hoping that the experience and exposure will help him become a better T20 player in the future. The 23-year-old stole the show with a brilliant opening batting performance during Australia’s T20I tour of India.
Australia’s schedule for next year is jam-packed. Green will feature in Australia’s home Test matches against the West Indies and South Africa. He may also play for his BBL team, the Perth Scorchers, before flying to India for a Test series, followed by the IPL and a possible World Test Championship final (WTC).

It’s A Concern For Every Player – Andrew MacDonald
Australia head coach Andrew MacDonald is concerned about Cameron Green’s workload and has stated that the all-rounder’s participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be decided closer to the event.
“His (Green) overall load in the next 12 months of cricket, is it a concern? Yeah, I think it’s a concern for every player. We’ve spoken about it several times. it’s hypothetical to see how he’s feeling come the end of March,” McDonald was quoted as saying by the Australian Associated Press (AAP).

“He’s got a lot of cricket before the IPL and I’m sure his decision won’t be made right now, it will be made later on down the track leading into the IPL. You never know what your body is going to feel like in three months’ time on the back of nine Test matches plus some white ball cricket of the back end of that Indian series,” he added.
After the IPL ends, Australia will be going to England for a five-match Ashes series in June. Australia also has a white-ball tour of South Africa in August, followed by the 50-over World Cup in October in India.
He’s Holding His Own As Batter – Andrew MacDonald
Due to a busy international schedule, Australia’s Test captain Pat Cummins has already pulled out of next year’s IPL. Green has recently been troubled by back injuries that have limited his bowling. McDonald said, “We’re lucky and fortunate enough that the quality in front of him (Green) doesn’t mean that he has to bowl excessive amounts of overs. He bats in the top six, he’s holding his own as a batter. So I could say that he’s pretty much unrestricted at the moment.”
