Middle-order batsman Kavem Hodge was not fond of the bails placed on top of the LED stumps in the middle of the iconic Gabba stadium in Brisbane, which is hosting the pink ball 2nd Test between West Indies and Australia. The visitors have fought back incredibly well in the series conclusion after losing the 1st Test by 10 wickets in Adelaide.

Kavem Hodge who has turned out to be a major revelation for the West Indies due to his exceptional stroke play in the Pink ball Test, appeared to be taking a dig at Aussie broadcasters and organizers for placing a biased pair of LED bails that according to him were favoring the home team.

The moment occurred during a drinks break at Gabba when a local groundswoman was checking over the bails. It was at the moment when Kavem Hodge stood in front of the stumps and voiced his opinion to the TV umpire upstairs through the stump mic.

Kavem Hodge was heard asking the 3rd umpire to change the bails and asked for a fair set of bails. He was captured laughing his heart out during that moment and the video which was uploaded by Fox Cricket, is now doing the rounds on social media and fans are loving his funny reaction.

“TV umpire to director, we have a review for bail change, give me your best bail angle, seems like a fair bail.” – Hodge made the remarks while bursting to a laugh.

His reaction might have also come in the light of the sequence that took place when Australia’s Alex Carey was batting at the crease. Windies pacer Alzarri Joseph threw a lightning-speed delivery to Carey who wasn’t looking to do much except defend the ball down.

As the ball went past Carey towards the wicket-keeper, there was a heavy noise which the West Indies thought could be a huge inside edge. However, the ball touched the stumps and the ball on the right side appeared to be going down before rolling back in.

We have seen this happen time in and time out and the weight of the LED stumps has created a massive stir in the cricketing world, asking the ICC to bring back stumps of the past that were not laced with LEDs. Nevertheless, it is far away from materializing but Kavem Hodge’s reaction pointed out that subject only.

Meanwhile, getting back to day 4 of the Pink Ball 2nd Test in Gabba, the West Indies are in dire need of just 2 wickets to clinch a famous victory on Australian soil. The visitors have played well in this match but the resistance showed by Australia’s new opener Steve Smith is perhaps the only obstacle standing between a famous win for Kraigg Brathwaite’s side.

Right-arm pacer Shamar Joseph will head back home as the team’s brightest prospect. In his debut Test series down under, Joseph has registered back-to-back 5-wicket hauls and at the moment, West Indies needs something magical to happen if they are willing to equalize the series by 1-1.
