Australia will be up against South Africa in the third of the three-match T20I series. This article provides details about Australia's Playing 11 vs South Africa for the third match of the series.
Australia Playing 11 vs South Africa- 3rd T20I, South Africa Tour of Australia 2025:
Openers: Mitchell Marsh (c), Travis Head
Australia would hope to make a strong comeback in the upcoming match after being outplayed in the second T20I by the hands of South Africa.
The home team would have been disappointed with the way it performed in the second outing against the same opposition, which looked out of rhythm, especially with the bat in the opening match of the series.
Having said that, Aussies can take confidence from the fact that they were able to dismiss South Africa's top order batters early, and it took a herculean effort from Brevis and Stubbs to take the visitors to an above-par total.
Going by Australia's style of play, they are not expected to make unnecessary changes, barring replacing Mitchell Owen, who has been ruled out of the remaining matches against South Africa.
Owen is expected to be replaced by Josh Inglis, and in the bowling department, Nathan Ellis might find a place for the final game of the series, with Ben Dwarshuis making way for him.
The Australians would want their captain, Mitchell Marsh, and left-handed opener Travis Head, to prolong the cameos they have played in the couple of matches so far and make a more significant contribution.
Marsh, in particular, will have to take the responsibility of batting for a significant amount of time, being the senior batter and captain of the side.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Cameron Green, Tim David, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis, Alex Carey (wk)
Along with the openers, the coach would also want the middle-order batters to bat more sensibly and according to the situation, something only Tim David has been able to do in the two games so far.
However, the former T20 World Cup champions wouldn't be too bothered about the performance of the batters, given that they have been performing consistently, as a result of which the Aussies won nine matches on the bounce.
Having said that, the likes of Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, and Alex Carey would want to put on a strong performance in the decider.
The hosts would bank on their batters to carry the good form that they showed before the collapse in the previous match.
Bowlers: Nathan Ellis, Sean Abbott, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood
The Aussies are expected to back their bowlers despite going for runs in the last match and would want them to come good.
The Mitchell Marsh-led side might bring in Nathan Ellis, who was not a part of the playing XI for the second match, in place of Ben Dwarshuis.
The rest of the bowling lineup is predicted to remain the same, with Sean Abbott and Josh Hazlewood completing the fast bowling trio.
Kangaroos' spin bowling department will be handled by Adam Zampa, who will be supported by Glenn Maxwell.
