India will face Australia in the fourth of the five-match T20I series. This article provides details about Australia's Playing 11 vs India for the fourth match of the series.
Australia Playing XI vs India- 4th T20I, India Tour of Australia 2025:
Openers: Mitchell Marsh (c), Josh Philippe
Australia would look to make a strong comeback in the five-match T20I series against India, having lost the last game in Hobart.
The Mitchell Marsh-led side will be without some of their key players, including left-handed opener Travis Head, wo has been released from the squad for the last two matches in order to prepare for the upcoming Ashes Series against England.
Head's absence from the squad would mean that wicketkeeper batter Josh Philippe will, in all likelihood, get a chance at the top of the order along with captain Mitchell Marsh, who will have to take the responsibility and get his team off to a good start.
Philippe, who is yet to prove himself at the international stage, would like to grab the opportunity with both hands and put on a strong performance in the upcoming match.
Australia would feel that they were 10-15 runs short of what could have been a winning total in the third T20I against India and would aim to rectify that in the next match if they end up batting first.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Josh Inglis (wk), Tim David, Mitchell Owen, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Short
Unlike the top order, which will change, the middle order is predicted to remain intact, with certain in-form players completing Australia's batting lineup.
The middle order, which includes the likes of Josh Inglis, Tim David, Mitchell Owen, Marcus Stoinis, and Matthew Short, would be entrusted to have a good outing and control things in the middle phase of the innings.
If the above-mentioned batters get going, Australia will fancy their chances of getting over the 200-run mark for the first time in the series, something which the team was on track to do in the previous game but fell short of.
For that to happen, the top five batters will have to do the bulk of the scoring for the team by converting the start that they get into a big score, as Tim David did in the third fixture.
Bowlers: Xavier Bartlett, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, Matthew Kuhnemann
Another player who won't be a part of the squad for the remaining couple of games is Sean Abbott, and he will be replaced by Ben Dwarshuis as the third fast bowler alongside Xavier Bartlett and Nathan Ellis.
Coming to the bowling performance of the home team in the last game, the team management would be somewhat satisfied with the way the likes of Nathan Ellis and Xavier Bartlett started.
The duo picked up wickets at regular intervals when they came on to bowl and kept the Aussies in the game for a major part of it.
The Aussies would want Bartlett and Ellis to keep up the good work, and for Ben Dwarshuis to support them.
As far as the spin bowling department is concerned, it will be handled by Matthew Kuhneman, with part-time bowlers like Matthew Short making up the fifth bowler's quota, along with fast bowling all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and Mitchell Owen.
