New Zealand will face Australia in the second of the three-match T20I series. This article provides details about Australia's Playing 11 vs New Zealand for the second match of the series.

Australia Playing XI vs New Zealand- 2nd T20I, Australia Tour of New Zealand 2025:

Openers: Mitchell Marsh (c), Travis Head

Kangaroos would like to clinch the series against New Zealand by registering a win in the upcoming second T20I, having already won the first T20I by six wickets.

The Mitchell Marsh-led side would want to replicate the game they showed in the first clash against the home side in all three aspects.

The onus will be on the opener once again to get the team off to a good start, like they did in quite windy conditions at the Bay Oval, the venue for all three NZ vs AUS T20Is in the ongoing series.

The pair of Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head began in their usual attacking manner and got the opposition bowlers under pressure by doing so, and they will look to do the same in the next match.

Individually as well, both Marsh and Head would hope to score runs at a good strike rate, as was the case in the series opener.

Marsh, in particular, was the aggressor of the two who latched onto anything short and targeted the short boundaries.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Matthew Short, Tim David, Alex Carey (wk), Marcus Stoinis, Mitchell Owen

The opening duo will be followed by a middle order that comprises batters like Matthew Short, Tim David, and Marcus Stoinis, all of whom have the capability of turning the game in the visitors' favour.

The team management would be happy that the majority of the batters got some game time in the middle in the first match and would want them to carry that rhythm in the second clash.

Having said that, one of the things that the Aussies would be somewhat concerned about would be the lack in the batting department, as the aggressive style of play of Australian batters also increases the chances of a collapse.

The captain would hope that's not the case in the match in question for the visitors to bag another series win in T20I cricket.

Bowlers: Ben Dwarshuis, Xavier Bartlett, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

Australia's plan to go with only four specialist bowlers in the last few years has yielded results, and the former T20 World Cup champions are expected to go with that very combination in what can prove to be the series decider against New Zealand.

It would be interesting to see if Australia decides to stick with the same bowling personnel of Ben Dwarshuis, Xavier Bartlett, Adam Zampa, and Josh Hazlewood or rest one of the bowlers.

The Aussies have a lot of options if the team decides to replace any of the three fast bowlers, with Adam Zampa expected to feature in the remaining two games as well.

All things said, the Aussies would be tempted to go with an unchanged playing XI with a series win in sight.
