Australian vice-captain Ashleigh Gardner's estranged wife, Monica Wright, has accused her on social media of having an affair with Australian teammate Georgia Voll. The Daily Mail reported allegations on Gardner; however, none of the claims have been independently verified.
Australia Women defeated England Women to win the ICC Women's T20 World Cup final at Lord's on July 5. The allegations have drawn significant attention around the Australian camp, but at the time of writing, neither Cricket Australia, Gardner, nor Voll had publicly responded.
Ashleigh Gardner Accused By Estranged Wife Monica Wright
Monica Wright responded publicly after the Daily Mail reported the breakdown of her marriage to Ashleigh Gardner. In a series of Instagram posts, Wright first referred to the report before sharing a photo of Australian opener Georgia Voll, alleging that Voll was the person Gardner had an affair with.

Gardner and Voll were part of Australia's ICC Women's T20 World Cup-winning squad. Wright and Gardner, who met through a dating app in 2020, married in April 2025. The allegations have not been independently verified, and neither Gardner nor Voll had publicly responded at the time of writing.

According to the Daily Mail, the relationship began to break down during Australia's ICC Women's Cricket World Cup campaign in India. A source told the publication that Wright noticed Gardner behaving differently during the tour before the couple had a conversation after returning to their Sydney home.
"It was a little bit weird. It was like something was a little bit off with Ash, but we thought it was because of the pressure of the World Cup... When they got home, [Gardner] goes, 'Hey, look, can we talk?' and she sat her down... They were about to go to the fertility clinic."
"They had a booking that Monica had to cancel... Ash left one day. Monica came home and everything of Ash's was gone, except for the rings. She left the wedding rings in the cupboard. Just the box of wedding rings, and that was it."
The report also claimed the couple had planned to start a family before the separation. Gardner is understood to have moved out of their Sydney home after the split, while Wright has continued living at the property.
Yeah, No Comment on That" - Cricket Australia Declines to Comment
The Daily Mail reported that Cricket Australia was aware of the marriage breakdown. The report claimed the matter was disclosed to the National Selection Panel around the time Gardner was appointed Sydney Sixers captain in the Women's Big Bash League before later becoming Australia's vice captain.
When contacted by the Daily Mail for comment, Cricket Australia's senior communications chief Richard Hinds declined to discuss the matter. "Yeah, no comment on that."
According to the report, Gardner and Wright met in 2020, got engaged in 2024, and married in the Blue Mountains in April 2025. At the time of writing, neither Gardner nor Georgia Voll had publicly commented on Wright's allegations.
