The Australia Women’s National Cricket Team is all set to return to Sri Lanka for a bilateral ODI series for the first time in more than a decade. Australia’s three-match tour of Sri Lanka will take place in December 2026, with all matches scheduled to be played in Dambulla.
The upcoming series will also mark the first ODI meeting between Australia Women and Sri Lanka Women in more than seven years. Their scheduled clash during the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup in Colombo was washed out, making the upcoming fixtures more valuable and exciting. Sri Lanka Women vs Australia Women ODI series schedule announced
Cricket Australia (CA) has on Friday (September 25) announced the schedule for the three-match ODI series between the Australia Women’s National Cricket Team and the Sri Lanka Women’s National Cricket Team.
Sophie Molineux and her Australia women are scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on December 10, with the ODI series getting underway on December 15. Dambulla’s Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium will host all the matches of Australia’s historic Sri Lanka tour.

- December 15: First ODI at Dambulla
- December 18: Second ODI at Dambulla
- December 20: Third ODI at Dambulla
Notably, the upcoming Sri Lanka vs. Australia ODI series will be part of the ICC Women's Championship 2025–2029 cycle, making the games even more crucial for both teams.
Australia’s incredible record against Sri Lanka
Australia will enter the three-match ODI series with a remarkable record in white-ball cricket against Sri Lanka. The Australia Women’s National Cricket Team has won all 19 of its white-ball matches against the Sri Lanka Women’s National Cricket Team since December 2000.
Their last ODI meeting came during a three-match series in Brisbane in October 2019. Australia won all three matches comfortably, and they made a world-record 18 consecutive ODI wins at that time. Amid this, England squad announced for 2027 Women’s U19 T20 World Cup.
The current Australian team led by Sophie Molineux has also been in excellent form, losing only one of its last 14 ODIs. That defeat came against India in the heartbreaking ICC Women’s World Cup semi-final in October last year, which ended Australia's title defense.
Australia enjoys a perfect ODI record in 2026
Australian women have been unstoppable in ODI cricket this year, as they won all six matches played so far. They first completed a clean sweep against India at home before registering another 3-0 series victory against the West Indies women in the Caribbean.
The Caribbean tour also marked the beginning of the Sophie Molineux captaincy era, with Australia making a winning start under their new captain.
Before travelling to Sri Lanka, Australia will also play a three-match ODI series against Bangladesh in Brisbane from October 9 to 14. This will be followed by a three-match T20I series at North Sydney from October 18 to 22.
With an unbeaten ODI record in 2026 and a dominant history against Sri Lanka, Australia will look to continue their winning record when the two teams meet in the ODI series later this year.
