Defending champions Australia National Cricket Team will begin their World Cup 2027 campaign against India in Cape Town on October 7, immediately bringing together the two finalists from the 2023 edition. Australia then face Qualifier A, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Pakistan during the Group Stage.
The Australia National Cricket Team are in Group A with India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Qualifier A. 2027 tournament will use a new three-stage format, with the top three teams from each group and the best fourth-placed side progressing to the seven-team Super 7 phase.
Australia’s World Cup 2027 Fixtures, Dates and Venues
Australia's campaign opens with the India clash at Cape Town on October 7. They return to action on October 12 against Qualifier A in Paarl before travelling to KuGompo City for their Afghanistan fixture on October 18.
Their final two Group Stage matches are against Zimbabwe in Harare on October 15 and Pakistan in Paarl on October 22.

The India opener is particularly notable as it brings the previous World Cup finalists together at Newlands in Cape Town.
Australia’s Key Matches in the 2027 World Cup
The opening fixture against India is the obvious early highlight of Australia's schedule. The side then has to negotiate four different opponents across Paarl, Harare and KuGompo City.
Pakistan fixture on October 22 will close Australia's Group Stage campaign. It will also be their second match against one of the three other pre-seeded Group A teams after India.
Australia National Cricket Team have been assigned the A2 position for the Super 7 stage. That gives them a separate set of scheduled fixtures if they qualify.
Australia’s Road From the Group Stage to the World Cup Final
Under the current Super 7 schedule, Australia will face Sri Lanka in Johannesburg on October 25, India in Victoria Falls on October 28, New Zealand in Victoria Falls on November 1, England in Durban on November 5, South Africa in Gqeberha on November 9 and Pakistan in Bloemfontein on November 13.
The Super 7 stage begins on October 25 and runs until November 14, with no Group Stage points carried forward. Each team plays six matches in a single round-robin competition.

The top four teams then qualify for the semi-finals. The first semi-final is scheduled for Cape Town on November 17, while the second is in Tshwane on November 18. The World Cup final will be played at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on November 21.
