Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam was seen showing his frustration in the dressing room during the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka on Sunday (November 16) at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.

Babar Azam came to the crease when the Men in Green were struggling at 8 for 1. The right-handed batter first built a strong 74-run partnership with Fakhar Zaman, who hit a solid 55. After that, he added another 19 runs with Mohammad Rizwan, trying to steady the innings.

Babar Azam’s angry reaction goes viral after Jeffrey Vandersay sends his stump flying

Babar played a slow and careful knock of 34 runs off 52 balls before the Sri Lankan leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay removed him during the final ODI on Sunday. On the third ball of the 20th over of Pakistan’s successful chase, Vandersay bowled a clever straight ball to Babar.

Expecting it to turn, Babar Azam played for the spin, but the ball held its line and went past his bat. Before the former Pakistan skipper could react, it crashed into his off-stump and sent it flying, leaving Babar stunned and Sri Lanka celebrating at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Following the wicket, the camera caught Babar throwing his gloves and bat in anger. He was even seen angrily talking to himself. Now, the clip of frustrated Babar is going viral on social media, with fans relating the act to Virat Kohli’s behavior in the dressing room.

Babar Azam adds another record to his legacy

Despite not playing a big knock in the final ODI, Babar Azam managed to achieve another major achievement in his career as he became the 11th Pakistani batter to cross 6,500 ODI runs.

He needed 33 runs to reach the mark and finished with 34 during Pakistan’s chase of 212 against Sri Lanka, taking his tally to 6,501 runs in 140 matches at an average of 53.72. Babar’s record now includes 20 centuries and 37 fifties in the ODIs.

Additionally, the Pakistani star hit four boundaries in the final ODI, taking his tally to 601. He has scored 700 runs in 15 innings, including four centuries and a fifty in the ODI cricket against the Islanders.

Pakistan crush Sri Lanka to seal dominant 3-0 ODI whitewash in Rawalpindi

Meanwhile, Pakistan wrapped up the three-match ODI series with a six-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the final match at Rawalpindi, as they completed a 3-0 whitewash. The home side looked in control from the very first ball, thanks to their disciplined bowling show.

Mohammad Wasim set the tone early with his fiery spell. Wasim scalped three wickets, while Haris Rauf and Faisal Akram each took two wickets to restrict Sri Lanka to 211 in Rawalpindi. Defending the target, Sri Lanka’s spinners tried to bring them back into the game during the middle overs by creating a bit of pressure and slowing down Pakistan’s scoring rate.

But the momentum swung right back to the hosts once Fakhar Zaman settled in. After Fakhar’s wicket, Mohammad Rizwan’s calm and unbeaten knock of 61 runs guided Pakistan home with ease, winning the game by six wickets with more than five overs left against Sri Lanka.
