Pakistan National Cricket Team player Babar Azam's father lashed out at the former players of the team for using poor statements against his son. He stressed that if someone replies to them back, they won't be able to tolerate it.

Pakistan National Cricket Team batter Babar Azam has been at the receiving end of heavy criticism for his poor performances of late. The premier batter hasn't made a big impact for the team in the last few years, and this has seen many questioning his place in the team.

Babar Azam failed to set the stage on fire in ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Babar recently played for the Pakistan National Cricket Team in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and it was the same story for him as he couldn't make the team win. The batter opened the innings for the team and struggled. He hit fifty against New Zealand, but it came with a very poor strike rate, especially in a chase of around 320.

In the game against India, Babar Azam scored just 23 runs as Pakistan National Cricket suffered a group-stage exit. The batter was criticized a lot, with Shoaib Akhtar calling him a fraud while others raised concerns related to his future in the team.

Babar, who was part of the ICC T20I Team of the Year in 2024, now has been dropped from the team for the T20I series against New Zealand. The batter has been named in just the ODIs as PCB decided to move forward from the senior players in the shortest format of the game.

Babar Azam's father pointed out his son's snub from the T20I Team, mentioning that he will make a comeback with his performances in National T20 Cup and PSL. He also requested former players to keep their statements in check, saying that it won't be tolerated. Taking to his Instagram account, he said:

"Boss is Always Right. Member of ICC's Twenty20 of the year team and even after getting the cap, he will drop. It is okay. He will perform in National T20 and in PSL. Insha Allah, he will come back soon after performing in the team.

"That's the only respectable. They are very big former players. They are requested to keep their words right. If someone answers back, they may not be able to tolerate it. You are the past and the door will never open."

Before listening to what they did in their time, look at the PCB website once - Babar Azam's father on former players

Babar Azam's father further launched an attack on former players, saying that people who listen to them should look at what they did in their time. He added:

"Some others say that if the father speaks more, then in the Holy Prophet. He is his first and last coach, spokesperson, mentor, and the most well-wisher and father in the world, so those who do not have or are not capable of it, please be patient and it is a request to the cricket lovers who have been shouting day and night for them. Before listening to what they did in their time, look at the PCB website once. A hint is enough for the rest of the wise. Pakistan Zindabad."
