Babar Azam has yet again failed to live up to expectations as his poor form continued in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

After falling for a duck in the first inning, the former Pakistan skipper has yet again failed to get going in the second inning in the ongoing Rawalpindi Test against Bangladesh.

Nahid Rana has struck a crucial blow by dismissing Babar for 22 runs off 50 balls, marking a pivotal moment for his Bangladesh team in the ongoing first Test against Pakistan. The young bowler is overjoyed after taking the wicket of Pakistan's top batter.

Nahid Rana ends Babar Azam's inning at 22, adding to Pakistan's woes

Babar, who had already survived a dropped catch by Litton Das, added 22 more runs before his luck ran out. Rana delivered a fast, full ball just outside off-stump at 146.4 km/h, tempting Babar into a drive.

However, the ball slightly nipped back in, causing the right-hander to get a thick inside edge that sent the ball crashing into the stumps.

This wicket was a result of Babar's previous drive, where the former Test captain had also struggled with an inner edge, but this time the line was tighter, forcing him to reach for the ball. After another failure, Pakistan fans came down harder on Babar on social media.

Many fans have been suggesting Pakistan’s white-ball captain take at least three to six months break from the game to regain his form, as he has been just disappointing himself, the team, and the fans as well. On the other hand, some fans are making mockery of Babar’s struggle, calling him a joker.

Before his poor batting show, Babar missed a crucial opportunity to dismiss Bangladesh's wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim, who went on to score gigantic 191 runs to take the tourists to 565 runs on the board in the first innings against Pakistan.

He dropped Rahim on the 4th day of the match when the Bangladesh veteran was batting on 150. Attempting to dab a flighted delivery from Salman Ali Agha, Rahim directed the ball toward Babar at a leg slip. The ball, coming off Rahim's glove as he tried to keep it low, was within Babar's reach, but he couldn't hold on to the catch, allowing Bangladesh to take a 110+ lead in the Rawalpindi Test.

Apart from his batting disgrace, Babar’s fielding was disappointing too, leading the fans to call for dropping the national star from the team, as he has not been contributing in any department. Even Pakistan’s Test captain Shan Masood was seen engaging in a heated argument with the coaches over the dropped catch by Babar in the ongoing Rawalpindi Test against Bangladesh.

Well, the Pakistan cricket team has already lost six wickets for just 105 runs in their second innings against the Tigers. Now, the hosts all hopes are on Mohammad Rizwan, who smashed a stunning ton in the first inning.

Rizwan is currently batting on 22 runs off 22 balls, but the Pakistan team is really in danger, as Bangladesh needs only 4 wickets to make their chase so smooth with the hosts only taking nine runs in the game at the moment.

Here's how fans express their frustration at Babar Azam on social media:
