The Sylhet International cricket stadium is all set to host the BAN vs NZ first Test from November 28-December 2. The Test match starts at 9 am IST which is 9.30 am local time. The two-match Test series is a part of the WTC 2023-25 campaign.
New Zealand played three ODIs against Bangladesh ahead of the ODI World Cup. They won the series 2-0 winning the second and the third ODI. Post the World Cup, they resume the bilateral series to complete the red-ball leg of the tour.
Sylhet will host the first Test from November 28-December 2. Dhaka will host the second Test from January 6-10. Heading into this series, only six of the top 10 Test teams have played in the WTC 2023-25 campaign. This Test match kickstarts the campaign for the two teams in question.
New Zealand are fresh of yet another World Cup where they made it to the semis. They made the finals the last time and lost out to England. This time around, they lost to India in Mumbai.
Bangladesh on the other hand, made a league stage exit after losing seven out of the nine league games. There was a lot of controversy surrounding the squad and the management was also in question.
Speaking about the first Test, Tim Southee will lead the Kiwis while Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the Tigers. Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal are both not a part of the squad. In their absence, the squad looks an inexperienced outfit, especially in the bowling department.

The Kiwis, on the other hand, have a full-strength squad with Kane Williamson returning fully fit from injury. Trent Boult, Mitchell Santner, Daryl Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra, Tom Latham, and Devon Conway provide a lot of depth and experience in this squad.
BAN vs NZ Weather Report Live Today And Pitch Report Of Sylhet International Cricket Stadium- 1st Test, 2023
Speaking about the venue, Sylhetr has hosted just one Test match in 2018. The average first innings score is nearly 300 which dips with every innings when the pitch breaks. This is expected to be another spin-friendly surface with Bangladesh being the hosts. The Kiwis have good spinners themselves to counter this threat.
Speaking about the conditions, the weather across the five days of the Test match is expected to be mostly good with the sun shining nice and bright. The temperature will be around 28-30 degrees. Conditions should be good enough for cricket with no threat of rain.
