Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal, who scored an impressive 133 at the start of the innings, is the second-most leading scorer in the country in Test cricket.

Tamim has amassed 4981 runs in 66 Tests and missed the opportunity to become the first Bangladesh player to go past 5000 runs in Test cricket.

After reaching his 10th Test century, Tamim struggled on the pitch in his battle with the heat and humidity. The southpaw did not return to bat after the tea break as he was declared retired hurt.

Tamim resumed his innings on Day 4 after Liton Das’ dismissal to Kasun Rajitha. But Tamim’s stay at the crease lasted for just one ball as Rajitha cleaned him up with a full in-swinger.
