The Zimbabwe national team had a horror day on the field against the Bangladesh national team during the fourth T20I of the ongoing five-match series. Bangladesh lower-order batter Mustafizur Rahman survived twice in a single delivery in the recent match in Dhaka on Friday, May 10.

Zimbabwe suffered a five-run loss in a thrilling encounter at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The Sikandar Raza-led team failed to chase down a target of 143 runs in the fourth T20I match. The visiting team conceded a 0-4 lead to the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led team in the ongoing series.

The incident occurred on the second delivery of the 20th over of Bangladesh's innings in Dhaka. There was confusion between Tanvir Islam and Mustafizur Rahman, as they paused for a moment. Blessing Muzarabani had a chance to run out Mustafizur Rahman, but his throw missed the stumps.

The ball went to third man, and Bangladeshi batters attempted to take an overthrow. However, Mustafizur Rahman was slow to react, resulting in a run-out opportunity. Johnathan Campbell missed a straightforward chance to run Rahman out despite having ample time to dislodge the bails.

This missed chance is considered one of the worst fielding efforts in international cricket history. The video went viral across social media platforms on the internet. The users reacted with funny responses to the comical fielding attempt.

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza opted to bowl first after winning the toss. However, the decision backfired as Bangladesh openers Tanzi Hasan (52) and Soumya Sarkar (41) added 101 runs in 11.2 overs for the first wicket. The Zimbabwe bowlers bounced back and took wickets at regular intervals.

Apart from the openers, Towhid Hridoy was the only batter to reach double figures. Bangladesh was bowled out for 143 runs in 19.5 overs. Luke Jongwe claimed three wickets for 20 runs in three overs, while Brian Bennett and Richard Ngarava took two wickets each.

Keep Getting Closer And Closer - Sikandar Raza

Sikandar Raza praised the efforts of the team's youngsters, highlighting their determination to improve. He emphasized the need for the top order to contribute more runs, including himself. Raza commended the team's fighting spirit despite the challenges.

"We keep getting closer and closer, I'm proud of the way the youngsters are chipping, they have put their hands up and are pushing themselves to do better. But the top-order needs to chip and I need to score more runs."

"I have always backed my players, from the bowling point of view, we were fantastic, but we have bowled well in the last few games, the batting has been a let-down. We've lost a cluster of wickets, we've lost a few quick wickets after a partnership. I can live with these mistakes, we've a young team and they've shown a lot of fighting abilities," Sikandar Raza said.

The fifth and final match between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh is scheduled to be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday, May 12. The visiting team hopes to end the series with a victory in the last match.
