BAN vs ZIM Scorecard, 3rd T20I, Highlights: Faraz Akram's late cameo goes in vain as Bangladesh seal third game by 9 runs

The third T20I between the Bangladesh National Cricket Team and the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team took place on Tuesday (7th May). The virtual series decider between the teams took place at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. 

Bangladesh National Cricket Team produced another brilliant effort with the bat and ball in the third T20I against Zimbabwe. They won the game by 9 runs and clinched the series with 2 games to go.

Bangladesh National Cricket Team were asked to bat first and they weren't off to the start they would've wanted. Litton Das (12) struggled to get going and lost his wicket early and after that skipper, Najmul Hossain Shanto (6) perished as well as the hosts came under pressure. 

Tanzid Hasan (21) tried to get going but fell after the start. Things got worse for Bangladesh as they were left tottering at 60/3. However, after that, Towhid Hridoy (57) and Jaker Ali (44) joined hands together and bailed the team out of trouble with their terrific partnership.

They put pressure back on the Zimbabwe bowlers with their staggering performance. The duo added 87 runs together and got the innings back on track at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram and took their team past 150 runs. 

While Towhid slammed a magnificent half-century, Jaker Ali scored 44 runs. Mahmudullah and Rishad Hossain made valuable contributions in the end as the Bangladesh National Cricket Team posted a total of 165 runs at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. 

For Zimbabwe, Blessing Muzarabani was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/14. Apart from him, Faraz Akram and skipper Sikander Raza picked one wicket each for the team.

BAN vs ZIM, 3rd T20I - Zimbabwe innings: Tadiwanashe Marumani and Faraz Akram's efforts go in vain as Bangladesh win by 9 runs 

Zimbabwe also had a poor start to their innings in the chase. Joylord Gumbie (9) perished early and immediately after that Brian Bennet (5) and Craig Evans (7) fell as well. They were reeling at 33/3 inside the powerplay at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. 

After that, Tadiwanashe Marumani (31) tried to get going but couldn't carry on as the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They were left tottering at 91/8 and it seemed that the game would get over quickly. 

However, after that, Wellington Masakadza (13) and Faraz Akram (34*) brought Zimbabwe back into the game. They added 54 runs together and put Bangladesh under pressure. With 21 runs needed off the last over, Zimbabwe gave their best but fell short of the target as the hosts won the game by 9 runs to take an unassailable lead of 3-0 in the series.
