Bangladesh announce schedule for five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), on Saturday (March 16), announced the schedule for the five-match T20I series at home against Zimbabwe. The series will help the Bangla Tigers prepare for this year’s T20 World Cup, scheduled to be played from June 1 to 29 in the West Indies and USA.
The five-match T20I series will be played in May. Zimbabwe will arrive in Bangladesh on April 28 while the first game is scheduled to take place on May 3. The second and third games are scheduled to take place on May 5 and 7 respectively. The first three games will be played in Chattogram.
Both the teams will then move to Mirpur for the last two T20Is, scheduled to take place on May 10 and 12 respectively. The first two games of the series will begin at 6 PM local time while the third game will start at 3 PM. The fourth game will be played from 6 PM while the fifth and final game will be played from 10 AM.

3 May, 2024: 1st T20I, ZACS, Chattogram (6 PM)
5 May, 2024: 2nd T20I, ZACS, Chattogram (6 PM)
7 May, 2024: 3rd T20I, ZACS, Chattogram (3 PM)
10 May, 2024: 4th T20I, SBNCS, Mirpur (6 PM)
12 May, 2024: 5th T20I, SBNCS, Mirpur (10 AM)
After the series against Zimbabwe, Bangladesh will also play a three-game T20I series against the USA in May before participating in the T20 World Cup. The hosts are expected to name a full-strength side for both series as most of their players will be available. Only left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman could miss the series as he will be busy playing for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024.
Bangladesh in T20 World Cup 2024:
Bangladesh are in Group D of the T20 World Cup 2024. They are one of the record 20 teams participating in the upcoming tournament. The 20 teams have been divided into four groups of five teams each. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super eights before four teams qualify for the semifinals.
Bangladesh are in the Group along with 2014 winners Sri Lanka, South Africa, Netherlands, and Nepal. The Bangla Tigers will open their campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024 on June 7 against Sri Lanka in Dallas.
