The Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced an exciting white-ball tour of Bangladesh in mid-October on Monday, September 15. Bangladesh and the West Indies will play three ODIs and three T20Is, where both teams will fine-tune their squads ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed that the three-match ODI series will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, while the T20I matches will take place at the Bir Shrestho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium in Chattogram.

The West Indies’ white-ball tour of Bangladesh will kick off with the first ODI on October 18, followed by the second and final ODIs on October 20 and October 23.

After the ODI series, both teams will head to Chattogram for the three-match T20I series scheduled on October 27, 30, and November 1.

This white-ball series is seen as a major opportunity for both the Tigers and the West Indies to experiment with team line-ups and strategies before the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February next year.

Scheduled for the Bangladesh vs West Indies series 2025:

October 18: First ODI in Dhaka

October 20: Second ODI in Dhaka

October 23: Third ODI in Dhaka

October 27: First T20I in Chattogram

October 30: Second T20I in Chattogram

November 1: Third T20I in Chattogram

West Indies gear up for hectic schedule

Meanwhile, the West Indies cricket team is preparing for an action-packed end to 2025 with a series of major overseas tours after hosting Australia and Pakistan at home. Their international calendar is packed with 22 matches across formats, as the CWI announced their busiest schedule.

The West Indies’ overseas journey will start with a historic three-match T20I series against Nepal in Sharjah on September 27, 29, and 30. This series will be the first-ever bilateral T20 clash between Nepal and the West Indies. After which, they will play six white-ball games against the Tigers.

Their 2025 tour will end with a full-format tour of New Zealand from November 5 to December 22. The West Indies’ tour of New Zealand includes five T20I matches, three ODIs, and three tests. It will be their third Test series of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle.

West Indies to take on India in historic Test tour

Before these tests in New Zealand, the West Indies will face India in their second fixture of the WTC 2025-27 cycle. They will play the first Test in Ahmedabad from October 2 to 6 and the second and final Test in Delhi from October 10 to 14. This is the West Indies’ first Test tour to India since 2018.

On the other hand, the Tigers is currently participating in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE. The Tigers have already played two games, and they have only two points in the Group B table. If they want to make it to the Super Four stage, Bangladesh will have to beat Afghanistan in the final group match on Tuesday, September 16, to make it to the next round.

If Afghanistan wins this game, Bangladesh will be eliminated from the Asia Cup 2025. From Group A, India had already qualified for the Super Four round in the UAE.
