The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is confident about hosting the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup as per schedule despite ongoing political unrest. Bangladesh Cricket Board CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury stated that the present scenario of unrest and riots in the country will not impact the ICC tournament.

Bangladesh has experienced violence and protests on the streets, with over 150 people reportedly killed. The protests are related to government job quotas for families of 1971 Independence War freedom fighters. The government imposed a curfew and an internet shutdown across the entire country.

Earlier, Cricbuzz reported that the International Cricket Council (ICC) is keeping an eye on the situation in Bangladesh due to recent unrest and an imposed emergency. The Bangladesh government is yet to lift the emergency, which was imposed last week.
