The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 is underway, and there has been some bad news coming from the Peshawar Zalmi camp as Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam will leave Peshawar Zalmi for their national team commitment. They are set to leave the franchise on the 13th of April for national duty.

Bangladesh is set to host New Zealand for a three-match ODI series and a T20I series. The ODI series is scheduled to play the first two ODIs in Dhaka on April 17 and 20, followed by the third in Chattogram on April 23. The T20I series will begin on April 27 and conclude on May 2.

Nahid Rana bowled the most economical spell of any foreign bowler in PSL history. It's also the best economy of the season. While fellow Bangladeshi quick Shoriful Islam took one wicket for 23 runs. Shoriful struck quickly, dismissing David Warner for a golden duck.

Babar Azam creates a new record

Following the power play, Nahid Rana did further damage with a scorching spell. Rana's performance sent him into the record books, and the match itself set multiple milestones. His partner, Shoriful, has just picked up one wicket in three matches. However, Nahid Rana have been more impressive than his other Bangladesh teammate Shoriful.

Coming to the match, Zalmi scored 247/3 in their 20 overs with Kusal Mendis scoring a brilliant century in the game. The Sri Lanka batter scored 109 off 52 balls and stitched a partnership with captain Babar Azam of 191, which became Peshawar’s highest for any wicket.

Babar also scored 87 and reached 12,000 T20 runs in 338 innings, the fastest ever, surpassing Chris Gayle. The two pacers, Nahid and Shoriful, will be back ahead of the playoff matches for the Zalmi.

Bangladesh change their match timings

Bangladesh Cricket have recently won the ODI series against Pakistan, and now they will be up against the Kiwis. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) changed the timings of upcoming international matches involving the Bangladesh men's and women's teams. This decision is part of a plan to boost the Bangladesh government's energy-saving strategy amidst a global fuel crisis.

The matches were previously scheduled as day-night matches; all three One Day Internationals (ODIs) between Bangladesh and New Zealand's men's sides have been rescheduled for earlier start times. The matches in Dhaka and Chattogram will start at 11:00 a.m. local time, rather than in the evening.

The decision ensures that games end by sunset, which is around 6:30 PM. This will restrict the usage of the floodlight. According to the board, this change is estimated to save roughly four hours of electricity per match.
