Bangladesh will reportedly play three T20Is instead of five against Pakistan in the upcoming series. While both teams were originally scheduled to play a five-match T20I series, the two cricket boards have decided to reduce the number of games to three.

There was uncertainty all around regarding the series in the wake of the border tension between India and Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had to suspend the Pakistan Super League, and the T20I series was in doubt.

The PSL recently resumed, and the final is now scheduled to take place on May 25, the same date on which the T20I series was originally scheduled to start. Unsurprisingly, it was speculated that the T20I series would be postponed.

Bangladesh to play three T20Is in Pakistan:

However, BCB has confirmed its tour of Pakistan for a three-match T20I series. All the T20Is will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, and the full schedule will be announced by the PCB soon.

The decision comes after a lengthy meeting between the PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi and the BCB chair, Nazmul Abedin, along with the president, Farooq Ahmed. According to reports, Naqvi himself traveled to the UAE to meet the BCB officials and salvage the series. A number of players were hesitant to travel to Pakistan because of the political tension before Naqvi managed to persuade the BCB officials.

The Bangla Tigers are currently in the UAE for the ongoing three-match T20I series against the home side. They were originally scheduled to play two T20Is against the UAE but will now play an additional match.

In another development, Faisalabad will have to wait more to host an international game. The venue was scheduled to host two of the T20Is between Pakistan and Bangladesh. However, all three games will now be played in Lahore. Faisalabad has not hosted any international games since 2008.

Incidentally, the last international game at the venue was an ODI between Pakistan and Bangladesh. The venue is yet to host a T20I.
