Pakistan will be up against Bangladesh in the fifth match of the Super Four round of the Asia Cup 2025. This article provides details about Bangladesh's Playing 11 vs Pakistan for the important match.
Bangladesh Playing 11 vs Pakistan- Asia Cup 2025, Super 4, Match 5:
Openers: Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Saif Hassan
Bangladesh would like to put on a spirited performance against Pakistan in all three departments of the game to increase their chance of winning against a team that roared back into form in their last game against Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh will bank on their bowlers to come good to restrict the opposition to a chasable total if they bat second in this particular match.
As far as the batting is concerned, it has been in good form of late and would like the case to remain the same against an in-form Pakistani bowling lineup.
The onus will be on the team's openers to get them off to a good start in the first six overs.
The duo of Tanzid Hasan Tamm and Saif Hassan would want to lay a solid platform for the incoming battes to capitalize on.
Both Tanzid and Saif have shown what they are capable of doing individually as well, in at least one match in the Asia Cup 2025, and would like to replicate that in what happens to be the last game of the Super Four for Bangladesh.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Litton Das (c & wk), Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Jaker Ali, Rishad Hossain
The middle order has also shown signs of form in different games, but one of the concerns for the team is that the middle order hasn't been consistent when it comes to performance.
It has played exceptionally well in one match and has looked flat in the other, which is something that needs to be corrected come the match against Pakistan.
Although the team bats deep, the bulk of the runs will have to be scored by the top five batters.
The majority of the work among the top five batters will have to be done by Litton Das, who should return to lead the side after missing the previous game, as he bats at number three, which is considered an important position in any format of the game.
Bowlers: Nasum Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed
As far as Bangladesh's bowling lineup is concerned, it has done its job to the best of its abilities in the ongoing tournament.
Having said that, the likes of Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, and Taskin Ahmed, who is expected to make a comeback in the playing XI against Pakistan, would hope for the batters to post an above-par total on the board.
The Litton Das-led side would need a score of at least 180-190 runs, as anything less than that hasn't been easy to defend in the Asia Cup 2025.
Their spin bowling department will be handled by Nasum Ahmed and Rishad Hossain, both of whom will play a crucial role in the match, given that dew doesn't play spoilsport, especially in the second innings of what is an important game for the team.
