Bangladesh Playing 11 vs Sri Lanka- 2nd ODI, Bangladesh Tour of Sri Lanka 2025:
Openers: Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon
The Bangla Tigers are expected to retain the same opening combination of Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon for the second ODI against Sri Lanka.
The duo did a fine job in pursuit of 245 runs, the target set by the home side, by adding 29 runs in quick time and getting the bowlers under pressure.
Tanzid, in particular, was the aggressor of the two as he prolonged his innings and scored an attacking half-century to keep Bangladesh in the game.
Having said it was his wicket that changed the game on its head courtesy of a blinder from Janith Lyanage.
Tanzid would hope to play right till the end and get another big score under his belt to ensure that there isn't another collapse in back-to-back games.
Emon, on the other hand, started well by hitting three boundaries but was dismissed on the score of 13. The left-hander would wish to put on a strong performance in the next game.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Najmul Hossain Shanto, Litton Das (wk), Towhid Hridoy, Mehidy Hasan Miraz (c), Jaker Ali
The opening pair will be followed by two experienced batters Najmul Hossain Shanto and Litton Das.
Najmul would be kicking himself because of the way he got out in the first match after getting off to a good start. The former captain was run out in an attempt to steal a run.
As far as Litton is concerned, the new T20 captain wasn't able to open his account and was one of the batters to get out cheaply in the collapse that followed Shanto's wicket.
Both Shanto and Das would hope to put their hands up and take the responsibility to guide a young middle order along with the captain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Bowlers: Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman
Unlike the batting, the team's bowling did their job perfectly by restricting Sri Lanka to a chaseable score of 244 runs.
Bangladeshi pacer Taskin Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for the team as he picked up four wickets and broke the back of Sri Lanka's batting lineup.
Takin was well supported by fellow fast bowlers Mustafizur Rahman, who bowled economically, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who also picked up three wickets.
The trio will look to keep up the good work and replicate it in the second game to be played at the same venue where the first match was played.
The only concern for Bangladesh's management would be the performance of the spinners, both of whom were economical but failed to pick up a lot of wickets in conditions that were helping the spinners.
