In a recent development, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the squad for the second and final Test match of the ongoing series against South Africa. There has been a change in the Bangladesh lineup, with pace bowler Khaled Ahmed replacing Taskin Ahmed for this upcoming match.

The second and final Test will be played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, starting on Tuesday, October 29. The hosts lost the first Test match by seven wickets in Mirpur. The home team struggled against the South African bowlers, including Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj.

We Want To Have Taskin Ahmed Fresh Ahead Of The Long Tour - Selector

According to a Cricbuzz report, a member of the selection panel said that Taskin Ahmed was rested to keep him fresh for the upcoming ODIs against Afghanistan. The selectors said that Taskin is an all-format player, and the decision was made to manage his workload ahead of the long tour.

"Taskin Ahmed is our all-format cricketer and will be flying away from home for 50 days as we have ODIs against Afghanistan followed by a full-fledged series against West Indies," said the selector, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

"We want to have him fresh ahead of the long tour and so decided to rest him while Khaled is included so that if we need him, we can use him considering our two pacers Nahid Rana and Hasan Mahmud are fit and ready to go," he said.

Taskin Ahmed was not included in the playing XI despite being part of the squad for the first Test match against South Africa. Khaled Ahmed was part of the India and Pakistan tours but wasn't considered for the first match. The Bangladesh team will depart for Chattogram on Saturday, October 26.
