India vs Pakistan row, after the latter refused to play against the reigning champions, with Bangladesh removed from the World Cup after being denied by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to shift their venues from India, citing security reasons. They were replaced by Scotland in Group C.

Fresh controversy arises as former Pakistan batter Basit Ali has been blaming the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the current fiasco ongoing ahead of the major tournament. On 1st February Pakistan government confirmed their participation in the T20 World Cup, but they also mentioned through social media that they will not feature against India. Bangladesh asked to change its venues outside India after its star pacer, Mustafizur Rahman, was released by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), after the BCCI ordered them to do so. He was picked in the auction for a whopping price of INR 9.20 crore. It did not go well with the fans due to the rising tensions between the two countries after several Hindus were killed in Bangladesh. Basit Ali, speaking on his YouTube channel, shared his thoughts on this and believed that BCCI should have shown more maturity and made the announcement after the T20 World Cup had ended, as it would not have created as much controversy as it has now.

Ali, while speaking on his YouTube channel, "BCCI made one mistake by releasing Mustafizur Rahman early from the IPL. They could have let the matter cool down before making the announcement. If they did that after the World Cup, we wouldn't have been here." "The mistake stemmed right there. This led to Bangladesh refusing to travel, and now Pakistan is putting its foot down."

Basit Ali speaks on India vs Pakistan fiasco

After speaking on the Bangladesh fiasco, he shed light on the India vs Pakistan match that has been under the clouds after the Bangla Tigers were shown the door by the ICC. As things stands India is set to get the two points; however, he believes it is not a good sign in terms of the sporting future.

Ali said, "If Pakistan doesn't play India and the latter earns two points by forfeiture, it will damage cricket and the sport's future." In case Pakistan does not take the field against its arch-rivals, there will be monetary sanctions and other sanctions from the apex body, which could have a financial loss to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

'Pakistan board doesn't have any monetary problems'- Basit Ali

However, Basit Ali believes that such things wouldn't happen and that the PCB wouldn't suffer any loss with the government to compensate for them.

Ali finally said, "Pakistan board doesn't have any monetary problems. The government has asked them to take such a call, and then they would also give PCB the money."
