Former England opener Alex Hales reached a significant milestone during the match between the Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers. Alex Hales completed 100 sixes in the Big Bash League (BBL), becoming the fifth batter to achieve this feat in the tournament’s history.

Sydney Thunder skipper Chris Green chose to bat after winning the toss at the Sydney Showground Stadium on Saturday, December 30. The Thunder had a challenging start with the bat, losing two wickets for just 16 runs within the first three overs of the ongoing match.

Alex Hales completed his 100th BBL six in the fourth over, showcasing his power against Sean Abbott’s bowling. Hales delivered an impressive pull shot, sending the ball sailing over the square leg. The achievement reflects Hales’ prowess and impact in the format.

Chris Lynn holds the top spot in the elite list with a remarkable 200 sixes. Aaron Finch (118), Glenn Maxwell (115), and Ben McDermott (112) follow in the subsequent positions. Hales is the only non-Australian batter to achieve this milestone during the tournament.

Alex Hales has had a successful career in BBL history, accumulating 2214 runs in 74 matches at an impressive average of 32.08 and a strike rate of 150.10. The right-handed batter has notched up one century and 15 half-centuries, with his highest score being 110 runs.

Alex Hales Manages To Score 26 Runs For Thunder

Hales was dismissed after scoring 26 runs off 19 balls, which included three boundaries and a six. Alex Ross (44 off 39) and Daniel Sams (30 off 25) forged a crucial 70-run partnership for the fifth wicket. The Thunder finished with a total of 151/7 in the allotted 20 overs.

Jack Edwards was the pickup of the bowlers for the Sydney Sixers in the match, taking 3 wickets for 24 runs in his four-over quota. Jackson Bird picked up two wickets for 28 runs in his full-over spell. Sean Abbott and Ben Dwarshuis each secured one wicket during the match.

The Sixers and Thunder currently occupy contrasting positions in the standings. The Sixers enjoyed a successful run with three wins out of four matches, securing three wins in four matches. The Thunder managed to secure one victory out of four matches.

Brisbane Heat are currently in first place in the table with 9 points to their tally. The Perth Scorchers registered three wins out of four games and one no-result and are in second place with 7 points. Sydney Sixers are in third place with 6 points in the ongoing Tournament.

The Melbourne Stars hold the fourth position with two wins and three losses. Adelaide Strikers are in the fifth spot, securing three points from one win, two losses, and one no-result. The Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes are in the sixth and eighth positions, respectively, with similar points but varying net run rates.
