The Big Bash League (BBL) revealed the names of the overseas players who are going to take part in the upcoming league and play for the franchise teams.
The upcoming draft for the BBL 2023 will take place on September 3rd where the players will be up for auction and will be sold out to different teams.
One of the major talking points of this season’s BBL draft is that more than 30 players have been included in the list. The keen interest from the Pakistani players this season is one of the crucial takeaways. A total of 376 overseas players have been named in the list.
Earlier, the star Afghanistan spinner decided to return to the BBL and play for the franchise teams. Rashid Khan announced that he won’t be taking part in the league after he spoke against the tournament but decided to reverse his decision.
A few days back, Rashid Khan said that he wouldn’t play in the BBL since the Australian cricket team refused to come to play in Afghanistan due to their differences with the Taliban government in the state.
A few Pakistani players have already taken part in the league like Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Rizwan. Meanwhile, Haris Rauf who played for the Melbourne Stars is set to be retained by the franchise.
Shadab Khan is also likely to be retained by the Hobart Hurricanes after he played for the franchise last season. Khan played for the Brisbane Heat and the Sydney Sixers as well.
Pakistan players like Fakhar Zaman, Usama Mir, Mohammad Hasnain, and Shan Masood also took part in the elite franchise league earlier.
Mohammad Hasnain was reported for illegal delivery for which he was banned from the Sydney Thunder and later cleared from all the charges in June to start bowling in international cricket. Hasnain has also been included in Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming Asian Games 2023.
