Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury clarified the recent reports over Test and ODI head coach Russell Domingo leaving the role. The board explained how the coach was misrepresented by the media.
After Bangladesh’s poor run in T20 Internationals having won just two in 13 games since the T20 World Cup last year, BCB ousted the South Africa coach from the shortest format.
The fuss over Russell Domingo after T20I ousting
Former Indian player Sridharan Sriram was appointed the technical director to look into the affairs of the T20I side, thus bringing split coaching in the national team.

Domingo recently took a dig at the BCB for making too much noise and preventing cricketers from growing in T20Is. The BCB sought clarification from the South Africa-born coach over his comments. To exacerbate things, reports of Domingo resigning from his role were doing around the corner.
Russell Domingo is embarrassed: BCB
BCB said that Domingo was embarrassed with what all has fold up and he was misrepresented in the media.
“We are seeing it and I feel the whole thing is a misrepresentation. Today we spoke at length with Russell and he is embarrassed because of the way things are coming into the media he is a bit awkward with that and that is why he requested you that it should not come in this way,” Nizamuddin told reporters at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Friday.

“Because it is a relationship between employee and employer and we can have misunderstood and so to avoid it (misunderstanding) we spoke at length with Russell and even you wanted to know. The thing is that it (that news) is not right. And I am repeating that two parties had a miscommunication,” he further said.
Bangladesh won 19 out of 46 T20Is under Domingo with notable victories including – 4-1 and 3-2 bilateral series win against Australia and New Zealand respectively, just before the 2021 T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh’s recent bilateral defeats to Zimbabwe in both T20Is and ODIs with the margin of 2-1 drew a lot of flak for the team management.
