BCB Organizes High-performance Training Camp; Senior Team To Play Matches Against Bangladesh A Team

Bangladesh Cricket Board is set to conduct a training camp for a high-performance squad. The camp will begin on Sunday (August 22) at the Nahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. The camp will observe total precautions against the Covid-19 pandemic and thus will be held under a bio-secure environment.

During the camp, three One-Day matches and two four-day matches will be played between Bangladesh high performance squad (HP) and Bangladesh A team. BCB director and High-Performance Chairman Naimur Rahman Durjoy met the HP squad at the BCB national Academy in Mirpur on Friday. With the camp, the Board aims to help players to progress to the next level.

Here’s Bangladesh High-Performance Squad For The Camp

Some of the batsmen in the High-Performance squad comprise Tanzid Hasan, Anisul Islam, and Shahadat Hossain. Shafiqul Islam, Mohammad Hossain, Tanzim Sakib are some of the bowlers in the team. Below is the full squad of the High-Performance squad for the camp.

Batsmen: Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Mohammad Parvez, Hossain Emon, Munim Shaharier, Shahadat Hossain, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Towhid, Hridoy, Anisul Islam

Wicketkeepers: Imranuzzaman Imran, Akbar Ali

Spinners: Minhajul Abedin Afridi, Rakibul Hasan, Mohammad Rishad Hossain, Hasan Morad, Tanvir Islam,

Pacers: Shafiqul Islam, Mukidul Islam, Noman Chowdhury Sagor,Ruhel Mia, Sumon Khan, Rejaur Rahman Raja, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Mohammad Shahin Alom.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh national team bagged a memorable triumph against Australia in the recent T20I series, winning the series 4-1. An Australian squad short of crucial players toured the Asian nation for a five-match T20I series. However, they suffered a big blow against the home side, losing 4 games out of 5. From September 1 to 10 next month, Bangladesh is set to host New Zealand for 5 T20I matches.

Post that, the country will prepare for the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021, set to commence on October 17 in UAE. The Asain team is part of group B in the tournament and will compete against teams like Scotland, Papua New Zealand, and Oman to qualify for the super 12 stage.
