Russell Domingo’s status as Bangladesh’s head coach will be decided by the BCB on August 22. Domingo might continue as the Test and ODI coach, as per Board President Nazmul Hassan, who also said that Bangladesh is “trying to split” positions.

Hassan stated a few days ago that the BCB intends to make “dramatic changes” ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup.

It is known that BCB and Domingo’s relationship has not been the best during the past 12 months. Tension has increased as a result of Bangladesh’s recent defeats in the T20I and ODI series in Zimbabwe. Even earlier this month, Jalal Yunus, the chairman of the BCB’s cricket operations, complained that Domingo was not assertive enough as a coach in the T20 format.

Russell Domingo is also set to take part in the BCB discussions:

Russell Domingo is anticipated to participate in the BCB discussions on Monday as well.

On Friday, Hassan remarked, “We have not decided on (Domingo). “On August 22, we will all gather to discuss our options. Numerous modifications will take place. more than one or two. We will determine on August 22 whether or not to include Russell Domingo in our changes.”

“On that day, we will hear from everyone. For the time being, we want Domingo to focus on Tests and ODIs. We are attempting to divide everything.”

“There is so much cricket that Domingo finds it difficult to focus on three formats. If you look at our contract with him, he can not even attend parts of the series. He has distinct breaks. These are important considerations. It is not that simple.”

Bangladesh has won only 19 of 46 T20Is under Domingo. Last year, they defeated Australia and New Zealand 4-1 and 3-2, respectively, but many feel the two triumphs were due to tailor-made roaring turners in Mirpur.
