BCCI Announces Release Of Invitation To Tender For Media Rights For IPL 2023-2027

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the release of the invitation to tender for the media rights for the Indian Premier League seasons 2023-2027, on March 29, 2022, Tuesday. The BCCI will arrange an e-auction for the new bidders for the first time in IPL history and are eyeing a windfall of close to Rs 50,000 crores.
The Governing Council of the IPL invites bids from reputed entities to acquire the Media Rights for the Indian Premier League Seasons 2023-2027, through a tender process. The detailed process of application, fees and other things will be contained in the ‘Invitation to Tender’ (“ITT”), which will be made available for a non-refundable payment of INR 25,00,000 (Rupees Twenty-Five Lakhs Only) plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax.
“The detailed terms and conditions governing the tender process including eligibility requirements, process for submissions of bids, proposed media rights packages, and obligations, etc. are contained in the ‘Invitation to Tender’ (“ITT”) which will be made available on receipt of payment. The ITT will be available for purchase till May 10, 2022,” the release said.

Interested parties are requested to email the details of payment made for the purchase of the ITT to iplmediarights2022@bcci.tv, as per the procedure laid down in Annexure A. It is clarified that the ITT documents shall be shared only after receipt of payment of the non-refundable ITT fee.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah Tweets That Process Will Not Only Maximize The Revenue, But The Value As Well
The e-auction is all set to commence on June 12 while the last date for purchasing the Invitation To Tender (ITT) documents has been set for May 10. Meanwhile, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, in a series of tweets, stated that following the addition of two new teams in the IPL, the BCCI is aiming to take the tournament to “newer and greater heights.”
