The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finalized a pool of 350 players for the IPL 2026 mini-auction, set to take place on December 16 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Notably, the board added 35 new players, who were not part of the earlier submissions, to the final list at the request of the franchises.
A total of 350 players will go under the hammer at the much-awaited IPL auction. As many as 1355 players had registered, and the BCCI asked all ten franchises to submit the names they were interested in. Notably, the board trimmed the list and even added 35 players who were not part of the original registrations.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, the BCCI informed teams that 350 players will be part of the event. The report added that the accelerated bidding phase is expected to begin likely after the first 70 names.
"The auction will feature 350 players and will commence at 1 pm UAE time (2.30 PM IST) on Tuesday, 16 December, at the Etihad Arena, Abu Dhabi," the BCCI said in a mail to the franchises on December 8.
"For your planning purposes, please note, subject to timings it is envisaged that the accelerated process will start after player No. 70."
"The first accelerated will cover all the players from 71-350. Once these players have been presented, franchises will be requested to submit the names of the players (unpresented and unsold) from all those on the full list of 350 for further accelerated presentation.”

The opening batter has set his base price at ₹1 crore, half of his salary in the previous mega auction when KKR signed him for ₹2 crore. Notably, the BCCI’s revised list includes several other fresh overseas names as well, such as Sri Lanka’s Traveen Mathew, Binura Fernando, Kusal Perera, and Dunith Wellalage.
Players from Afghanistan and the West Indies have also joined the pool, while over 20 uncapped Indian players, including Vishnu Solanki and Parikshit Valsangkar, have been added to the domestic options.
