The Indian Women’s team finally received their well-deserved prize money from the BCCI for their participation in the 2020 T20 World Cup. A few weeks ago, it came to light that the BCCI had still not paid the Indian women’s team their funds, which amounted to $50000, and copped criticism for the same. But a Times of India report claimed that around 8-9 days ago, the Indian cricket board it.

All the women’s cricketers had approximately received $26000 as prize money for the 2020 T20 World Cup, reaching the finals of the tournament for the first time. The BCCI had to take action immediately after The Telegraph reported that the Indian Women’s team had yet to receive their prize money for the mega event. It had already been in the spotlight for delaying payments on various fronts, with the entire staff of the Jammu and Kashmir team of the 2019-20 season complaining, including their mentor Irfan Pathan, who had yet to receive his remuneration.

Furthermore, the board has also given the money for the recent home series against South Africa. A reliable source of Times of India claimed, “The BCCI had last month asked all the members of the Indian Women’s team to send an invoice to claim their prize money for the T20 World Cup as well as the home series against South Africa. Once the players raised the invoices, we cleared their payment within a day or two. Thus, all the dues of the women’s team have now been cleared,”
