Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav & Jayant Yadav Set To Join Indian Test Team In England As Replacements

A BCCI official has confirmed that Prithvi Shaw, Surykumar Yadav, and Jayant Yadav will be traveling to England for the five-match test series as the replacement for the three injured players. This will be great news to Suryakumar Yadav who has earned his maiden call up to the Indian test team after his impressive performances in the ODI series.

Prithvi Shaw and Jayant Yadav have already played for India in tests but this will be their first assignment in English condition which is going to be a big challenge. Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Washinton Sundar comprise the injured list and they won’t be part of the test series further.

Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav have been in outstanding form while Jayant Yadav is a like-to-like replacement for Washington Sundar.

BCCI To Confirm About Their Departure Dates Soon

The BCCI official confirmed that the replacements will be sent to England in a few day’s time and the dates of their departure will be decided after having a discussion with the Indian team in Sri Lanka as Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav are part of the tour. He also added that there is a possibility for the replacements to leave just after the completion of the T20 series against Sri Lanka.

Yes, Prithvi, Surya, and Jayant will be flying to England. Whether they will fly in the middle of the T20 Internationals (Prithvi and Surya are part of team in Sri Lanka) or post that is being worked out.“BCCI Senior Official

Ajinkya Rahane Doubtful For The First Test

Ajinkya Rahane has suffered a hamstring injury and he wasn’t taking part in the warm-up game against the County selected XI. This could be a big blow to the Indian team as their vice-captain has some good numbers in English conditions and he will be an important player. But Rahul’s recent century must just be enough for the team to go ahead without replacement.

The five-match Test series is scheduled to start on August 4 and will end by September 14.
