However, almost all the limelight has been taken by Virat Kohli, who was the leading run scorer for RCB this season with 675 runs in 16 matches, but many were equally impressed by the impact Bhuvneshwar made throughout the tournament with the ball.

However, Shukla has not mentioned anything regarding a comeback but hailed Bhuvneshwar for his remarkable performances this season, which could be a big hint that the RCB star has returned to the national reckoning.
Rajeev Shukla told reporters in Ahmedabad, as quoted by ANI: “The revival of Bhuvneshwar Kumar was amazing. The kind of bowling he did was amazing.”

Rajeev Shukla praised both finalists after the summit clash. He congratulated RCB for their remarkable achievement and also lauded Gujarat Titans for their strong IPL 2026 campaign. He said that both teams were more than capable of winning the title.
The BCCI VC further added, “It was a great final game. The teams who reached the finals were capable... It was a great match. It is a matter of happiness that RCB won back-to-back. Along with that, I congratulate the Gujarat Titans as well.”

The BCCI vice president also spoke about the rise of teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who enjoyed a dream season with the Rajasthan Royals. The left-hander collected several major awards after the final. The 15-year-old amassed a massive 776 runs and finished as the Orange Cap winner.
And Shukla highlighted how Vaibhav’s fearless batting left the cricket world amazed. He further said, “Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is a great player. There is no doubt about the way he played. The whole country is amazed by him, the way he performed at this age.”
