Chennai Super Kings slip to 6th position after humiliating defeat against LSG
Chennai Super Kings were well in contention for a spot in the playoffs after having managed to win three consecutive matches in this season of the IPL. However, the recent defeat to LSG led to a massive dent in their campaign.
Super Kings suffered a staggering defeat by a huge margin, as the Super Giants finished the chase of 188 runs within the 17th over of the game. Due to this massive defeat, the Super Kings' run-rate slipped behind that of the Rajasthan Royals.
The Super Kings have now slipped down to the 6th position and elevated the Royals to the fifth position. A win for the Royals would surely see them through to the fourth spot in that points table, which would hand them a greater chance for qualification.
With CSK's defeat DC, KKR, RR, and PBKS remain well in contention for a playoff spot
