BCCI set to honour all India champion teams on March 15, huge IPL 2026 update revealed

BCCI is planning to arrange an all-star evening to felicitate 'all the ICC tournament winners'. On Tuesday, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia announced multiple initiatives to mark all the recent trophy-winning moments as special.
Through an official press release, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced a whopping prize money for the T20I team for claiming the third T20 World Cup title. The board has announced a record-breaking prize money of INR 131 crore for the team.
A staggering prize money of INR 131 crore for the T20I team
Devajit Saikia claimed that the amount of money they have issued to reward the team is astonishing. On any previous occasion, the board had not dared to declare such an amount as prize money. Every member of the T20 World Cup 2026 squad will be awarded. Though the officials are yet to decide the breakdown of the huge amount.
“Regarding the prize money breakdown (for the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup winning team), we'll let you know soon. But the total amount of Rs 131 crore, this is an unprecedented amount given to any victorious Indian team by the BCCI. Apart from the winning team, all support staff and selectors will get this money too,” Board Secretary Devajit Saikia told news agency IANS.
The BCCI Awards ceremony will happen on March 15
He further informed that the award ceremony will be arranged on March 15 in New Delhi. The recent T20 World Cup champions, the senior women’s team, the U19 boys side, the U19 girls team, and the 2025 Champions Trophy winning team members will all be invited to grace the event. Along with the cricketers, coaches and staff will also be there.
“The BCCI Awards ceremony will happen on March 15 in New Delhi. We are going to invite all the ICC tournament winners, including the recent T20 World Cup champions, as well as the coaches. Apart from the senior men’s team, the senior women’s team, the U19 boys side, and the U19 girls team, who won the trophy in 2025, will also be invited”, Saikia further informed.
“We will also invite the 2025 Champions Trophy-winning team members, too. So, five ICC trophies won by various Indian teams during the course of the last year - all the members of those teams will be honoured on the awards night, and it will be a great evening of celebration”, he told the media.
BCCI to announce IPL 2026 schedule soon
Announcements regarding the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League are also expected to be made soon. IPL 2026 is scheduled to start from the latter part of this month. For that, BCCI has yet to announce the full schedule. Saikia stated that they will announce the fixtures part by part.
“We plan to announce the IPL 2026 schedule by March 12. For now, we are going to announce the IPL 2026 schedule for the first 20 days”, he further informed.
