While speaking to PTI, South Africa batting legend AB de Villiers said that he is eager to witness Virat Kohli’s prowess in the Test series against South Africa. He also cautioned Proteas to be aware of the World-class Indian team.
“We will see the best of Virat. I cannot wait to see the chest out, the eye contact with the opposition, and being a bit verbal with everyone. Because he will be fired up for this series. South Africa will need to be careful. This Indian squad is pure world-class,” AB de Villiers said.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested for the T20Is and ODI series against South Africa. However, they are part of the Test series. Notably, whiteball vice-captain Hardik Pandya is already out of the field due to ongoing injury.
In their absence, Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team in the T20I series. Yadav has led India to victory in the ongoing T20I series against Australia, with one more game to go. KL Rahul will lead the side in the ODI series.
