AB de Villiers has cautioned South Africa’s team against Virat Kohli for the forthcoming Test series. AB de Villiers feels that Virat Kohli will be in his best form during the series and pose a great danger to South Africa on their home soil.

India tour of South Africa is the next campaign for the men-in-blue. The tour will witness a T20I, ODI, and Test series. The T20I and ODI series will be played first followed by the Test series, which begins on December 26 with the first Test.

While speaking to PTI, South Africa batting legend AB de Villiers said that he is eager to witness Virat Kohli’s prowess in the Test series against South Africa. He also cautioned Proteas to be aware of the World-class Indian team.

“We will see the best of Virat. I cannot wait to see the chest out, the eye contact with the opposition, and being a bit verbal with everyone. Because he will be fired up for this series. South Africa will need to be careful. This Indian squad is pure world-class,” AB de Villiers said.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested for the T20Is and ODI series against South Africa. However, they are part of the Test series. Notably, whiteball vice-captain Hardik Pandya is already out of the field due to ongoing injury.

In their absence, Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team in the T20I series. Yadav has led India to victory in the ongoing T20I series against Australia, with one more game to go. KL Rahul will lead the side in the ODI series.

However, they lost the next two games to ultimately face a 2-1 defeat in the three-match series. Notably, it was after the South Africa tour in January 2022 that Kohli stepped down from his captaincy.
