Legendary England cricketer Geoffrey Boycott has taken a brutal dig at their batting line-up after their collective failure to counter Pakistan's spin challenge in the recently concluded Test series.

Boycott slammed the Bazball approach and claimed that Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Harry Brook, and Ben Stokes do not have any answers when the ball is spinning around. Recently, the Englisg team lost the three-match Test series to Pakistan 1-2.

The visitors won the first Test at Multan and it seemed like they will cruise to their second successive Test series win in Pakistan. But the home side prepared spin-friendly surfaces for the final two Tests which exposed England's batting line-up.

Pakistan won the second and third Tests at Multan and Rawalpindi respectively and went on to clinch a historic series win 2-1. Pakistan's spinners Noman Ali and Sajid Khan were the architects of this magnificent win. The duo shared 39 of the 40 wickets in the final two Tests.

Geoffrey Boycott brutally slams England's batters

While writing for his column in The Telegraph, Geoffrey Boycott expressed his displeasure towards the Bazball approach and claimed that they are just flat-track bullies. He named his column 'England’s brainless Bazballers are just flat-track bullies'.

"If you want to be rated a great batsman, you must have a rounded game and score runs on all types of pitches. And if you want to have a legacy as a great team then you have to be able to win on all surfaces," Geoffrey Boycott wrote in his column.

"They are wasting their opportunity and risk being remembered as flat-track bullies unless they make some adjustments for conditions," the column added.

The first Test at Multan was played on a flat pitch where England scored 823-7 in the first innings on the back of a triple hundred from Harry Brook and a double hundred from Joe Root.

However, as the ball started turning from the second Test, English batters could not adjust as Noman Ali and Sajid Khan used their experience to dismantle the opposition batting line-up.

Geoffrey Boycott questions the patience of England batters

In his column, Geoffrey Boycott further mentioned the mistakes of the English batters. He noted that England's batsmen played with hard hands which is not the right way to play when the ball is turning.

"As soon as the ball grips Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Harry Brook, and (Ben) Stokes are all at sea. They go at the ball with hard hands and there are gaps between bat and pad," Boycott wrote.

"If they are not smashing boundaries they lose patience – and patience and concentration are the most important traits on turning pitches," he added.

Pakistan make a superb comeback

Pakistan defeated England by 9 wickets in the third Test to win the series 2-1. It was all about Pakistan's spinners Noman Ali and Sajid Khan in the final two Tests. Both of them picked up a combined 39 wickets in just two Tests of the series.

Both the spinners were not even a part of the first Test. Left-arm spinner Noman Ali picked up 20 wickets in two Tests at an average of 13.85 while offspinner Sajid Khan picked up 19 wickets at an average of 21.10.
