While they have lost the services of some big names such as their captain KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock, Marcus Stoinis, and Krunal Pandya, they have also signed up good replacements in the recently-concluded auction.

For the upcoming season of the IPL, the Lucknow-based franchise has signed up some big names such as Rishabh Pant, Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, and David Miller.

Openers: Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh

The Lucknow Supergiants Playing 11 will have a new opening combination for IPL 2025. With the likes of KL Rahul and de Kock not a part of the team anymore, Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh are looking set to open the innings for the team next season.

Both the players will have a point to prove in IPL 2025. Markram was sacked as the captain before IPL 2024 and will be looking to make a big impact in the next season.

The South Africa star played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024 and scored 220 runs in 11 games. On the other hand, Marsh could only play four games before being sidelined with an injury. In those four games, he scored 61 runs.

Middle-order batsmen and allrounders: Rishabh Pant, Nicholas Pooran, David Miller, Ayush Badoni, Shahbaz Ahmed

The Lucknow Supergiants Playing 11 will have a new-look middle-order. While Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni will be the familiar names, the new additions will be Rishabh Pant, David Miller, and Shahbaz Ahmed. The new addition has made the middle order an explosive one.

Pant is likely to lead LSG next year and will be looking to lead his team from the front. In IPL 2024, he had scored 446 runs in 13 games. Pooran, who was the vice-captain of the team last season and was also retained, scored 499 runs in 14 games while Miller scored 210 runs in 9 games for Gujarat Titans. Badoni scored 235 runs while Shahbaz Ahmed scored 215 runs. Shahbaz can also be used as a spinner by the Super Giants.

Bowlers: Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan, Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan

Lucknow Supergiants are likely to field three frontline pacers and one specialist spinner. In Mayank Yadav, LSG arguably has the fastest bowler in the IPL while the likes of Mohsin Khan and Avesh Khan are proven performers in the tournament. Ravi Bishnoi is set to lead the spin attack of the team.

Mayank impressed one and all with his bowling in his debut IPL campaign earlier this year. He hit the ground running in the tournament before his campaign was cut short due to an injury.

On the other hand, Mohsin and Avesh are known for their ability to pick crucial breakthroughs. In Bishnoi, LSG have a spinner who can cause trouble for any batter.
