Bharat Arun’s Tenure as India’s Bowling Coach from 2014 to 2021

Bharat Arun served as India’s bowling coach from 2014 to 2021. He played a crucial role in building one of the most formidable pace attacks in world cricket. During his tenure, India secured historic Test series wins abroad, and fast bowling emerged as a dominant aspect of the team’s success.

The 62-year-old coach mentored a golden generation of Indian pacers, including Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, and Mohammed Siraj, all of whom became world-class bowlers under his guidance.

Arun has taken on the role of bowling coach for the Kolkata Knight Riders since IPL 2023. He is also involved with their sister franchise, LA Knight Riders, in Major League Cricket (MLC).

Sri Lanka is preparing for a busy international schedule, focusing mainly on white-ball matches ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup. They will host Bangladesh in June for a multi-format series that includes two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is, scheduled from June 17 to July 16.

Earlier, Sri Lanka hosted Australia for a home series comprising two Tests and two ODIs. Although Sri Lanka lost the Test series, they recovered to win the ODI series 2-0. Recently, veteran Sri Lankan batter Angelo Mathews announced his retirement from the longer format of international cricket.
