Venkatesh Iyer walked out to bat at five and started his innings on a high as he slammed a boundary in the second innings. It was expected that he would bat long and help the Kolkata Knight Riders post a big total on the board. But his stay at the crease was cut short by Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel in the 9th over.

Axar Patel bowled a full and straight delivery outside off, to which Venkatesh Iyer swung across the line and got a top edge. The Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder ended up misusing it towards cover, where Vipraj Nigam completed a safe catch.

Venkatesh Iyer has been averaging mid-20s in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The all-rounder surely has been below his standards in the league. His poor performances come as a big shock as he was acquired by the franchise for a whopping amount of 23.75 crore.
