In the video, Pant is seen wearing protective strapping around his knee and visibly struggling to walk. The incident took place during an off-field fan interaction, where he was seen signing autographs and posing for pictures, but his discomfort was clear from the very beginning of the clip.

This also comes as a big blow to the Indian cricket team as he is all set to travel to England for the five-match Test series, starting on June 20. Pant was recently named India's new Vice-captain while Shubman Gill was named the new captain.
Rishabh Pant poor run hurts LSG campaign
Meanwhile, Pant’s debut season with Lucknow Super Giants turned out to be a nightmare for both the players and the franchise. After parting ways with Delhi Capitals following eight years with the team, Pant entered the IPL 2025 mega auction and made headlines when LSG bought him for a record-breaking INR 27 crore, making him the most expensive player in IPL history.
With such a big price tag, fans and the team had high hopes for the star Indian wicketkeeper-batter. But Pant badly failed to live up to the expectations. In 13 matches, the left-handed batter has scored only 151 runs, averaging just 13.72 with a low strike rate of 107.09.

He managed just one half-century all season and has hit only eight sixes, which is a shocking number for a player known for big shots. Pant’s struggles with the bat played a big role in LSG failing to reach the playoffs, turning what was meant to be a comeback season into one filled with disappointment.
Akash Deep defends out-of-form Rishabh Pant
However, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Akash Deep has backed captain Rishabh Pant amid his poor form in IPL 2025, saying it's not pressure but bad timing that’s holding him back. Akash praised Pant’s experience and success at the top level, saying even the best players go through rough patches, and he is confident that he will bounce back strongly with the bat.
Akash Deep stated, “I feel that in cricket, timing is also something very important. I don't think it's about pressure because Rishabh has played a lot of cricket, and at a very high level too, and he has performed as well. An athlete who has achieved so much in life knows how to handle pressure. So, I don't think pressure is the reason. It's more about timing—sometimes you want to do something, but it just doesn't happen. I feel that's the phase Rishabh is going through right now.”
Notably, LSG will wrap up their IPL 2025 journey with a final league game against RCB on May 27 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. While LSG are already out of the IPL 2025 playoff race, RCB will be eyeing a win to push for a top-two finish. On the other hand, RCB is currently in third place with 17 points from 13 matches, while LSG sits seventh with 12 points.
